Katie Sarra
Katie's paintings are an exploration in relation to identity with ones body. These are oil paintings that witness, celebrate, reveal and most of all, honor the people that give them selves to this experience of being painted. The paintings emerge from the here and now experience that Katie has with her sitters and are influenced as much by how they see them selves as how Katie observes them.
Katie will capturing in oil on canvas your tattooed skin, creating paintings of images on flesh. Honoring the marks on your bodies as part of your bodies form. These paintings will immortalise the already permanent expressions of your self on your skin. Your identity that you have created on your skin will be communicated onto the canvas and celebrated.
Katie graduated with a degree in Fine Art from Leeds Polytechnic in 1988, winning the painting prize for her year. After practicing for a time in London as an artist and art therapist, she now has a studio in Devon, where she lives with her family.

You can be painted in oils on a 40 x 40cm canvas. Larger sizes are available up to 120 x 120cm.
